Profitable Trends so far in England League One and League Two
Article last updated on 23rd of April 2019League One and League Two may not be as popular as the Premier League, but that doesn't mean that they aren't as exciting. Both the leagues are home to some quality clubs, and the competition is pretty much always neck to neck. This makes for some pretty thrilling matches that will keep you at the edge of your seat, season after season.
Both the leagues are well underway, and several games have taken place in League One and League Two in England so we can work out what favorable trends have appeared so far. These two leagues are often forgotten about by punters, but if you look deep into the stats, you can often find profitable areas that the bookmakers have not picked up on.
Because of the overwhelming popularity of the bigger leagues, bookmakers have the tendency to focus on them. This makes it more likely that they would offer odds that might be a little off, which would mean that you could easily find a value betting situation. Here are some tips to bet on League-based teams.
Here are some teams that you can bank on.
Bristol Rovers
In League One, Bristol Rovers has been involved in many high scoring games. Four out of their five games have seen over 3.5 goals so far after a very entertaining start.
Over 3.5 goals are usually priced up at around 5/2, so with four out of five winning bets in this market, you would be well in profit if you had backed them at the start of the season. They’re expected to continue with the same form until the end of the season.
AFC Wimbledon
In League One, AFC Wimbledon has been involved in a lot of tight, low scoring games so far. Not many of the matches they've been involved in have had over 2.5 goals, meaning if you have backed under 2.5 goals, you would have had seen quite a few payouts by now.
If you continue to follow this trend, then you could potentially make some huge profits. This is usually priced up at just below evens, which would have given a nice profit. They will continue to defend well and play in tight games, so backing under 2.5 goals in their games is something I will be doing in September.
Wycombe
In League Two, Wycombe has been involved in a remarkable amount of high scoring games. A common trend we've seen with them is that move of their games have seen over 3.5 goals, priced up at around 5/2 that means a lot of profit if you had backed them in the opening five games.
They are equalizing 4.8 goals per game in games they are involved in, and you should certainly be backing over 3.5 goals in their games this month to make some profit from this statistic.
Swindon
In League Two, Swindon has won many games at home, naturally, but they have also won a number of their away games so far this season. They are expected to be around mid-table, but so far they have shown good away form and look to be valued when playing away.
They seem to have an edge during away games, so look to back them when they play those games, which at this moment seems much better value than backing them at home, where they have failed to win a game this season.
Apart from clubs, here are some betting markets that will help you bring home the big bucks.
Both Teams to Score
One of the best things about League One and League two is how evenly matched the teams are. They're all great, which means that the BTTS market can potentially be very profitable. A lot of people like to bet on both teams to score market and often you can use stats to help you make your selections. These two have had a good mix of goals scored and conceded, so they need considering next time you are placing a bet on the both teams to score betting market and this will help you beat the bookies. So far both Wycombe and Accrington Stanley have seen every single one of their games include a goal for both teams. These two have had a good mix of goals scored and conceded, so they need considering next time you are placing a bet on both teams to score betting market.
First goalscorer
This one is a widely overlooked but profitable market. As the name implies, all you have to do is pick who you think will be the first one to find the net.
Draw no bet
With this type of bet, there's a 50% chance you would make a profit. You can bet in either one of the teams to win, and if it's a draw, you get your stake back.
Over/under
The over/under betting market is incredibly popular, because of how easy it is to make a profit. All you have to do is guess whether or not the total number of goals scored by both the teams at the end of the match will be over or under a specified amount.
