Fantasy Football midfielders always have a unique value in our teams while more and more ‘’managers’’ are deciding to set the midfield as the core strength of their squads.
While players like Salah, Sterling or Eden Hazard are all key to the attacking forces of their teams, they are listed as midfielders on Fantasy Football. This explains why you should be careful when picking players at this position.
The list below is from highest to lowest concerning value, playing time and pricing:
Mohamed Salah - £13 m
The £13m Liverpool hitman is picked by 50,8% of Fantasy Premier League players and is absolutely a must-have in your team. Last year was quite successful for the Egyptian as he finished with a tally of 32 goals, awarding his Fantasy managers a massive amount of 303 points. Manager Jurgen Klopp already spent over £170m on Fabinho, Alisson, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shakiri this summer, and signaled his aspiration to finally end the league title drought, which lasts for 18 years. Salah will be essential if they are going to achieve this.
Kevin De Bruyne - £10 m
Although he looked a player out of form in the very beginning of last season, De Bruyne revived his style as the season went on and finished it on a high, with 209 points to his name. The same and even more is expected from the Belgian midfielder as he kicks off his 4th season as a Manchester City player. His ability to control the midfield and supply the forwards with accurate, deadly balls can only mean that he’s almost unbeatable until his next challenger arrives…
Jese Lingard - £7 m
The 2017/18 season was a real energizing season for the Manchester United wide forward. Considered by not many Fantasy managers, he entered on a backdoor into the first team becoming the inevitable part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for the season. He was a part of England World Cup squad, where he scored one goal, but played all of the games at the tournament. This year is expected to be the significant breakthrough for the young attacking midfielder which means loads of points in your pocket.
Ryan Sessegnon - £6.5 m
Despite only 18, the Fulham midfielder netted 16 goals and provided eight assists in the Championship last year. Picked already by 14% of the managers, the teenager presents a real attacking threat on the left side, possessing a variety of technic, power and speed skills. Even though he is young and inexperienced, Sessegnon is a gamble worth taking.
Tom Cairney – £5 m
Another Fulham midfielder and another bargain for Fantasy Football managers. Picked by only 3,1%, Tom Cairney might pick up a follower or two as the season goes on. Although he plays as a midfielder and usually picks up yellow cards, Cairney is on duty for Fulham set pieces which might bring your team much more bonus points.
