The Premier League football is officially back, and we could not have imagined a better encounter as an introduction to the 2018/19 season. Arsenal will kick off post-Wenger era hosting Premier League winners Manchester City, with ex Sevilla, Valencia, and PSG boss Unai Emery having his debut for the Emirates.
Arsenal betting odds: 23/10
Arsenal finished 6th in the Premier League last year, their worst finish under Arsene Wenger in his 22 years reign at the club. New manager Unai Emery, will have a lot of work to do if he is to return the club to its successful path. The Spaniard brought veterans Stephan Leichsteiner from Juventus and Sokratis Papasthathopulous from Borussia Dortmund, while goalkeeper Berd Leno and midfielder Lucar Torreira were also a part of the process of strengthening the squad in depth. With most of the first team players having a full pre-season, Arsenal should look far sharper and competent compared to City. However, sometimes, players need more time to adjust to the philosophy of their new manager and this might prove to be the most significant disadvantage for the Gunners.
Manchester City betting odds: 21/20
Manchester City set eye on the Premier League title since the very beginning and built momentum as the campaign went on and on until the very end. Pep Guardiola's team became the first team ever to reach the 100 points tally and to win 32 matches in one season. Despite all this, with most of the players still on vacation, because of their participation in the World Cup, Pep will undoubtedly have to make significant changes to his team. Youngsters like Brahm Diaz and Phil Foden have impressed during pre-season and might be inserted straight into the first team if Pep decides to do a little gambling. His biggest challenge, however, will be to emulate the energy and the eagerness of his players, as he focuses on another Premier League title.
Draw: 13/5
It is always entertaining and fascinating to watch when Arsenal and Manchester City go against each other, with both teams playing fast and direct football. With that being said above, a draw would be the fairest outcome. However, a goal in the first 10 minutes, with a couple of early yellow cards, and you have yourself an epic game of football.
